Beneath the Arch concert Series is a non-profit society operated by a board of directors and an army of dedicated volunteers. We are based in Turner Valley, Alberta, a 40-minute drive southwest of Calgary. Beneath the Arch sets a high standard, due to our strong and ongoing audience support and appreciation. 2008-2009 is our 20th concert season.

Our season begins in September and ends in April. We offer seven concerts per season, usually one per month, featuring top-notch local, national and international musicians representing a wide range of styles and influences. Past performers have included country, bluegrass, blues, klezmer, prominent singer-songwriters, Worldbeat, and classical music, even comedy performers, dance troupes and more.

Beneath the Arch sells season’s passes that include admission to all seven concerts, and rush tickets for individual concerts. Other funding sources include grants from provincial and federal government agencies, and sponsorship from local and regional businesses. We are very fortunate to have these generous and dedicated sponsors, without whom we could not present the high caliber performances that have earned us a reputation for quality entertainment.

Hats off also to the more than 40 volunteers who keep these concerts thriving in our community. From people who put up posters to people who set up chairs, mop the floors and bake goodies for our kitchen concession, we could not operate without our wonderful volunteers.

In addition to offering concerts, Beneath the Arch has other initiatives including:

*  Annual Performing Arts Bursary for local students
        *  each year Beneath the Arch  funds a number of concerts at area schools
        *  various donations as requested

Beneath the Arch holds an Annual General Meeting every spring, to sign up new volunteers, elect board members and assign volunteers to committees. The date and venue for our AGM is published in advance in local newspapers.
