Bursary amounts:
 A total of $1500 is available for bursaries, to be distributed to one or more recipients at the discretion of the Education Committee. Note that no bursaries will be awarded if the committee determines that none of the applications meet minimum standards.

What are these bursaries for?

To enable promising young performing artists to enhance their experiences and skills in a performing arts field. We define “performing arts” as any creative, artistic endeavor that is active and viewed by an audience (such as dance, voice, music, theatre).

 

Who may apply?

To be eligible, you must be:

  • a resident of Turner Valley, Black Diamond, Millarville, Longview, or the surrounding areas

  • currently be a student in Grades 4 through 12 at any school (or home school) in Turner Valley, Black Diamond, Millarville, Longview or rural schools west of 16 Street

  • home school students are also welcome to apply

How can you apply?

Eligible activities/costs

You can use the bursary toward any of these:

  • lesson fees

  • admission or registrations costs (tuition)

  • event or competition fees

  • rental fees (for instruments, studio space, etc)

  • materials, books, costumes, learning aids

We may ask bursary winners for proof that you used the bursary for one of these activities or costs.

Deadline for application:

Your package must be postmarked by May 31

We will announce the bursary winners before June 30.
